Neuralpedia: Speech Control

Speech Control is one of the defining parts of the Neuralverse.  It’s right at the intersection of linguistics and BDSM studies.  Researchers at institutions like The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality increasingly frame BDSM as a serious interdisciplinary field; these tracks articulate the fantasy that drives that practice.

The thesis is simple: language is power.  How we talk changes how we think, so the speech changes outlined here are a roadmap for consent-based control scenarios.

Those scenarios are structured as groups.   Each one has a distinct linguistic mechanism (with academic context) and a set of Neuralverse audio experiences that make the theory felt.

I. Umlearn (Filler)

Linguistic fillers – “um,” “uh,” “like,” “you know” – are among the most studied phenomena in spoken language research. Contemporary linguistics treats them as markers of cognitive load, social hedging, and processing delay.  That’s exactly what makes filler words into thinkykinky territory.  The um”s the hinge between fluency and dissolution.

The psycholinguistics of filler words shows they’re not random – they cluster at decision points, moments of syntactic complexity, and social vulnerability. In the Neuralverse, that vulnerability’s the point. The (d)um(b) game and Umlearn series are part of Unlearn University. The um is the lesson.

II. Upwords Downwards (HRT)

The high rising terminal – also called upspeak  – is when you end declarative statements with a rising intonation, making every sentence into a question?  It’s associated with uncertainty and deference.  In the Speech Control framework, that association becomes the material for a consensual scenario.

Rising tone is a power exchange signal built into the architecture of affect.  Upwords Downwards uses those mechanics to make an immersive scenario where the intonation pattern becomes a power exchange signal.  It’s one of the longer entries in the Speech Control catalogue, and one of the earliest.

III. Thpeech (Lisp)

The lisp occupies a unique cultural position.  It gets coded as both silly and endearing. That double-coding is exactly what makes it productive for erotic speech control.  The modification is minimal, but the social meaning is enormous.

The Thpeech Therapy series is part of Unlearn University and the Tongue Tied series.   The backing effects are minimalist but precise. Neural Nets voices the speech pathologist; Echo Doll makes her starring debut as the live thubject; Flux Lynniegal and Jade appear as recorded thubjects.

hecret Haptics was engineered alongside the audio rather than as an afterthought – the vibration architecture’s built around the risers in the source material. The mantric loop version is designed for extended listening.  It’s made with a music box backing that makes it weirder than steampunk in the best way.

IV. Tongue Tied (Euphemism)

Sexual euphemism is one of the oldest and most charged forces in  language.  The right euphemism is often more charged than the explicit term. That indirection creates tension and a kind of collaborative complicity between speaker and listener. In the Tongue Tied framework, euphemism becomes a restriction. The result’s usually more suggestive, not less.

The Bun Bun series takes place inside the Bunny Club of the Neuralverse.  House bunnies operate under a strict alternative lexicon. Every sentence becomes a performance of restriction, so every substituted word’s a reminder of what can’t be said.

Sticky Bun Bun extends this into an extended musical remix, with a drilltrap-infused arrangement of the most famous bunny song.  The Bunny Voicetrainer is a voice-activated haptic system: say approved words, receive reward; say forbidden words, lose it.

V. Duh Duh Dada (Devolution)

The Dada movement treated the collapse of coherence as both aesthetic program and political act – nonsensical syllables arranged for rhythm and emotional impact rather than semantic content.  That’s why they called it Dada.

In the Speech Control series, the arc from articulate speech to babble follows the same trajectory. It’s the body speaking without the mediation of meaning.  Getting there is the goal.

Buh Buh is staged as an academic scenario: a Master’s candidate presenting to her thesis committee as her speech progressively changes from professional register to pure babble.  Flux Lynniegal plays Bee Bee the candidate; Neural Nets voices the thesis adviser; Aurora, Bliss Blank, Kitten Azazel, Korrupted Innocence, Pipp, and Tink are the committee and participants.  Participants is too long a word, so they call them the partigirls. Talk Gooder Buh Buh Bongos is the extended musical remix – 38 minutes with three partial loops, bongos, and the buh-buh-bongo, an instrument designed specifically for this track.

VI. No Is (Pronoun Shift)

We think what we say.  In the Neuralverse, this is the Sapir-Whoreff thesis.

Removing first-person pronouns from speech isn’t a neutral stylistic choice: it restructures the speaker’s relationship to their own identity in real time. In the context of dollification, that’s a precise and purposeful power exchange.

No Is places Pipp on display inside the Facility – deep inside the Pink Room behind the Pink Room. It’s a mechanical steampunk aesthetic that suits her exactly. The Shelf is the dreamy mantric remix, using the same designed clockloop and bells in a more consistent soundscape that’s ideal for extended listening.

VII. Thinky Kinky (Rhyme)

Rhyme is one of the oldest mnemonic technologies we have. Rhyming structures dramatically improve recall ; phonological regularity creates retrieval cues that bypass  forgetting. In the Speech Control framework, the mnemonic power of rhyme gets turned toward erotic ends.

All Rhyme No Reason uses the rhyme requirement to produce something really surreal – speech that’s formally constrained but semantically unpredictable, a kind of forced poetry that sits at the intersection of absurdism and submission.The rhyme restriction produces effects that neither straight narrative nor mantric repetition can achieve on their own.
